A Special TV Show in Honor of Mom's
My friend told me to watch a drama-comedy show called: Mom's. It came out in 2013 and Anna Ferris stars in it. The show is great because it reaches an audience which can use a good laugh. It is about a mother and daughter relationship that bond over sobriety. It's emphasis is how challenging and funny it can be to stay sober. The Alcoholic Anonymous program is mentioned throughout the episodes too.
Watching People Crash and Burn is Funny
It is funny watching people start from the bottom and work their way up. The bottom is admitting you're an alcoholic and the top is staying sober and working the twelve step program. Mom's does a great job capitalizing on this. It's a hoot! It cracks me up when women accidentally: eat pot cookies, relapse when they loose their jobs, cheat, or date wino's. Imagine trying to stay sober doing those things.
Let's Laugh at How Hard Sobriety is
The truth is trying to stay sober and working a program in A.A. is tough cookies. It can be riot, but it can also be extremely difficult. Alcoholic's are impulsive and have a list of other negative tendencies related to the disease. All and all it's wonderful mixing in drama with a comedy for alcoholic's (especially women). After all laughter is our best medicine. I find the show totally relatable and intelligent. Check it out if you're feeling some giggles and drunk mom's escapades. I also find it an honor to motherhood, to the most vulnerable kind. To all the mom's out there goddess bless-- you matter!
