Infinitely Polar Bears: Review

The other day my partner and I went to the independent movie theater to watch: “Infinitely Polar Bears,” with Mark Ruffalo, which is why we went to see it... we like Mark. Any ways, the movie is about a man that is manic depressive in the 70's, known now as bi-polar disorder and he switches roles with his wife. His wife is a racial minority that goes back to school to get her MBA, while the dad stays at home with their two daughters. I love the title and I love what it's about. The movie brings attention to mental illness in a time when psychology was under-researched. It's important that bi-polar disorders are addressed by society so you can understand what it's like on the other side of the fence. I took my partner to see it , because she works in the psychology industry. Throughout the movie I was cracking up because it was funny, what Mark dresses as and the unconventional things he did with his daughters. I would highly suggest giving this one a try if you're looking for something meaningful to see today. And something interesting to note is that the writer and director of the movie based the story off her own life events.
