Today
I woke up with a fresh of breath air attitude. Maybe it was the
boxed brownies we made or the fact that we watched “Wayne's World”
last night on Netflix. But brownies and Wayne's World made me happy
last night...it was joyous. Fast forward to this moment as I sit here
at my computer desk day dreaming about what I did last night. I am purposely writing
positively to put myself in an uplifted mood. Creative writing in
general puts me in an elevated mood, because I have free range to
express myself.
Now as I type my thoughts run wild, because in
this moment I'm on LibreOffice (Linux version of
Microsoft Word,) watching “Mr. Mom” with Micheal Keaton from
1983. This movie inspired me to write because it reminds me of my
stay at home mother from the 90s. But the movie is about the dad
playing mom. There
are all kinds of sexist things going on in Mr. Mom that it's funny. For example, Micheal Keaton essentially switch's roles
with his wife and his wife is a wonderful multi-tasker,
she's a corporate stud muffin and a great mom.The dad- Mr. Mom
is having issues attempting his first try a taking care of their
children. In my own home my father never had a lay off so he never
had to play role reversal and my mom was a stay at home mom. The
cool thing about role reversals is that it makes you think 'what if.'
What if my parents switched roles from their “very” traditional
ones?
