Yesterday I drew a
blue dragon and a yellow and pink dragon for fun. I was killing time
and love dragons and last night I had a dream about 'Pete's Dragon,'
you know that live action, musical-movie from the 1970's. My mom
introduced me to it in the 90's, and it's about a friendship between
Elliot the dragon and an orphan named Pete. This kind of nostalgic
cinema really warms me up like when I have hot coco for the holidays
. Interesting enough Disney is remaking the movie into a 21st
century action flick with all the works of modernness.
I hope Disney
doesn't destroy the original because it holds such a special place in
my heart. Pete's Dragon introduced me to imaginary dragons and the
music in the film brought it to another kid-tastic dimension. In the
original Elliot is an animated, vibrant, pink and green dragon, he can
disappear on command, use his fire-breathing techniques to heat up
apples, and protect his best bud Pete. I'm listening to the song
right now: 'Brazzle Dazzle Day,' “It's a Brazzle Dazzle day, A life
time of joy in just a few hours, All our Brazzle Dazzle years have
just begun.” It's wonderful, which is why I had a dream about it
and love dragons so much.
