The Fall Party isn't Over Yet
It's a beautiful, sunny Southern California day. I like to start off all my blog entries with something positive. Even if it's a lie. Right now I'm pretending we lived somewhere where it snows or where you actually get weather. Now we're experiencing gnarly Santa Ana winds. There are fires all around us here. This is suppose to be Christmas time goddamn it.Batch of Aromas
The power is going out and the gusts are around 25-80 mph depending on the hour. It has been relentless too. Watch out for those widower trees because if a heavy branch falls on you it will make one. Weather besides, I made my first batch of potpourri and loved every aromatic minute of it. It has a mixture of: cinnamon sticks, orange peels, lemon wedges, vanilla extract, and all spice. My next batch is getting pine and cranberries.Santa Likes Rum
At the moment I wish I had my potpourri heating on the stovetop. After all this is the advent calendar countdown also know as 'Blogmas.' Trying to keep it festive and fun here. With a touch a ziggystar dust and snowflakes in the air. Santa Claus drinking rum instead of milk. Can you imagine Santa Claus drinking rum to get him through his busy night? I can and wouldn't blame him if he did. It warms your belly and your heart.Lets Talk Cookies
All honesty I'm not pirate and not big on rum unless it's drinking it somewhere tropical. Then rum is my favorite drink. And if you really want to know my favorite drink: it's champagne. Although it's a celebratory drink you can celebrate whenever you want over the golden fizzy stuff. Now lets talk cookies and show me a Santa whom doesn't like cookies.I like shortbread cookies the best because it's versatile and you can put any spread you want on them. Today I shall make eggnog cookies and make it a festive December 2017.
